Appointments
Mr Lloyd sees both public and private patients in his private rooms.
If you wish to see Mr Lloyd in his private rooms:
- Please ask your GP to send your referral by fax to 03 6331 1117
- Mr Lloyd will read your referral and indicate how soon you need to be seen.
- An appointment will be sent to you by post. You will receive paperwork which will inform you of the appointment date and time, the consultation fees and a patient information form and privacy consent which we ask you to complete and bring with you to your appointment. You can also complete the patient information forms online or download and print by clicking on the ‘patient forms’ tab on this page. Any other relevant information should be brought with you to your appointment.
Mr Lloyd also sees patients at the Launceston General Hospital Specialist Clinic. If you wish to be seen by Mr Lloyd or one of his team at this free clinic, please ask your doctor to fax your referral to 6348 7197. You will be sent an appointment by post once Mr Lloyd has seen your referral. Please note that you may be seen by Mr Lloyd or one of the doctors working for the Colorectal Unit at this clinic.
FEES – Consulting
All patients seen by Mr Lloyd in his private rooms will be required to pay a consultation fee at the time of your consultation. You can find these fees on your New Patient paperwork or you can contact the rooms on 6331 0717 to find out how much your consultation will cost. Your paid account can be transferred through to Medicare and your rebate paid directly into your bank account.
Please note that this practice does not Bulk Bill and Private Health Insurance funds do not pay rebates for out of hospital consultations.
FEES – In-patient Procedures
Mr Lloyd operates at Calvary St Vincent’s Hospital (Private) and the Launceston General Hospital (Public).
You will have no ‘out of pocket’ expenses if your procedure is done as a public patient at the Launceston General Hospital.
Mr Lloyd is registered as a ‘No Gap’ provider with most Private Health Insurances which means that if your procedure is done as a private patient at Calvary St Vincent’s Hospital, generally your procedure fees will be fully covered by your private health fund. There are some Private Health Insurance providers that this does not apply to and you will be given an estimate of fees when your procedure is booked for these. You are advised to check your level of cover with your private health fund prior to having your procedure.
You may have ‘out of pocket’ expenses for your anaesthetist, assistant surgeon (if needed) or any pathology taken during your surgery. These costs are out of Mr Lloyds’ control and you will be responsible for the payment of these accounts.
If you do not have Private Health Insurance you can choose to have your procedure done at the private hospital as a self-funding patient. You will be given an estimate of Mr Lloyds’ procedure fee at the time of booking and you will be given contact details for your anaesthetist and Calvary St Vincent’s Hospital for you to get an estimate of their costs. You can claim a Medicare rebate for both Mr Lloyd and the anaesthetist but not for the private hospital costs.
